Seth Curry: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Seth Curry is the younger brother of Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry.
He played college basketball at Duke, but was not drafted in 2013. The 24-year-old has spent time on 10-day contracts with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Phoenix Suns over the past two season, and has also played in the NBA’s Developmental League.
Here’s what you need to know:

1. He Started His College Career at Liberty & Transferred to Duke

Seth Curry’s college career started at Liberty University in Virginia. After averaging 20 points per game in his freshman season, Curry transferred to Duke.
He sat out the 2009-10 season, per NCAA transfer rules, and then played three seasons for the Blue Devils. He scored 1,394 points during his time at Duke. Seth was named to the All-ACC first team after his senior year.

2. He Played in the NBDL Alongside Klay Thompson’s Brother Mychal

Seth Curry, a 6-2 guard, was not drafted in the 2013 draft after graduating from Duke. He signed a non-guarenteed contract with the Golden State Warriors, his brother’s team, but was waived prior to the season. He then signed with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBDL.
While in Santa Cruz, Curry played alongside Mychal Thompson, the brother of Steph’s teammate, Klay Thompson. Like Seth and Steph, the Thompson’s father, Mychal, also played in the NBA. The Curry brothers’ father Dell starred for the Charlotte Hornets.
During that season he spent 10 days with the Cleveland Cavaliers, playing in two games.
He was a NBDL All-Star and finished the season with 19.6 points and 5.8 assists per game.

3. He Signed & a 10-Day Contract With the Suns in 2014 After Playing a 2nd Year in the NBDL

Curry moved to the NBDL’s Erie Bayhawks for his second professional season. He spent 10 days playing with the Phoenix Suns, but was waived and sent back to Erie.
He averaged 23.8 points per game for Erie.

4. He Was Videobombed by Steph’s Daughter Riley During a NBDL Press Conference

5. He & His Brother Were Teammates For One Season in High School

After years of backyard games, Seth and Steph spent one season playing together at Charlotte Christian High School.
“It was a great way to grow up, being able to practice with somebody, play one-on-one, talk basketball day in and day out,” Steph Curry told the San Francisco Chronicle. “Then, when you get a little older, to just encourage each other. Even though we’re taking different paths now, we have similar experiences. That bond never ends.”
Seth said, “I know he never wanted me to be able to beat him. He didn’t want me to have the edge. … For me, it was good having somebody a little bigger and better than me. We had some exciting games.”
