Shooting guard Seth Curry, the younger brother of Golden State's Stephen Curry, is expected to join the New Orleans Pelicans summer league team that will participate in Las Vegas this upcoming July.
Curry, who played at Duke, went undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft. He was extended a 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns this season but was not signed to a second 10-day deal after playing in just two games and not scoring a point. He also played in the NBA Development League with Erie BayHawks.
Last year, Curry played for the Orlando Magic in the Orlando Summer League and for the Phoenix Suns in the Las Vegas Summer League. During the 2013-14 season, Curry, 6 feet 2, 185 pounds, played briefly with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Memphis Grizzlies.
After summer league, if Curry performs well, he could be signed to a non-guaranteed contract to participate in next fall's training camp to earn a roster spot for the regular season.
The Pelicans are seeking a new head coach to replace Monty Williams, who was fired on earlier this week.
Curry's brother, Stephen, won the league's MVP award and helped the Warriors swept the Pelicans in four games in their first-round series last month.
